Puerto Banus was at the centre of the tennis world at the weekend. And I have to say that it was a very exciting place to be.

At this time of the year, Puerto Banus is always a magnet to a variety of visitors and holidaymakers, but with the Davis Cup quarter final between Spain and Germany being staged in the bullring in Puerto Banus, we saw an influx of tennis fans, bunting and flags for both countries taking part, a real sense of involvement in the local shops and department store, and an array of helicopters circling the port, to keep an eye on traffic and proceedings in general.

Most buyers of property in Spain have a habit of treating and viewing the entire Spanish property market in very general terms – at the moment, the widespread view is that the market is on its knees, prices are falling dramatically, and that vendors are desperate to sell.

This is wishful thinking on the part of prospective buyers.

Just as in any property market, there are areas that are still attracting high demand, just as there are undoubtedly areas with problems of over-supply and falling prices.
