I noticed during a recent trip to England that you could barely travel a mile down the road without the intrusion of a speed camera.

Speed cameras are relatively unused in Spain, although 2 were recently installed on the main coastal highway A7 on the Costa del Sol. For those planning a holiday on the Costa del Sol this summer, it may be handy for you to know that the first is located on the eastbound carriageway between the turnings for Puerto Banus and Nagueles (just before the tunnel), and the other is positioned on the eastbound carriageway just before the exit for La Cala de Mijas.

The notorious bend in the road on the Costa del Sol coastal highway at Torre Real, 3 kilometers to the east of Marbella centre, has just received an official title - ´Tramo de Concentracion de Accidentes´ - or in other words, an Accident Blackspot.

Signs have already been erected in the area, although none are in English, so any tourists hiring a car on holiday in Marbella this summer should make sure they sold down as they approach the area on either carriageway.

There are 2 other blackspots in the province of Malaga, with a further 231 nationwide in Spain.



The most common type of enquiry we receive at the moment goes something like this:

“I want to buy a villa in Marbella, but I want it to be priced around 40% - 50% under the valuation”

Let´s look at this request a little more closely.

Firstly, most vendors of Spanish property have reduced their asking prices considerably from the advertised prices of recent months. So it´s fairly typical to come across villas for sale in Marbella, reduced from previous asking prices by around 30% - 40%, with a discount of 50% sometimes available if the vendor is really desperate to sell.
