SKY tv in Spain – a necessary evil?
                                                 a

I relocated to my property on the Costa Blanca in the autumn of 2000, a blessed relief from my life of hard work and stress in the UK.

I had the property in Spain, the perfect climate, the beach at my doorstep and no bad news to depress me from the UK. I had specifically chosen to avoid all the misery of the UK media, so vowed to live my life in Spain as I meant it to continue – no British newspapers and no British tv.

Beachfront Property – buyers beware
                                            a

Most buyers of property in Spain want to be as close as possible to the beach. I guess this is a natural consequence of years of happy holidays by the sea coupled with the grim climate and scenery of Northern Europe.

But are beach properties in Spain really all there are cracked up to be?

Of course, for those lucky enough to have a frontline beach property in Spain overlooking the sand and the sea, the views and aspect are truly outstanding. But think about your view at night – probably pitch black.

Beachside Properties – Value Guaranteed?
                                                 a

Despite a slowing Spanish property market and gloomy predictions for 2009, those buyers that are keen to invest in a property in Spain are all looking for 2 things – the best location and value for money.

Some of these clients are expecting that they will be able to purchase beach properties in Spain at bargain prices, but buyers need to be aware that those vendors offering beachside properties for sale are fully aware that they are sitting on premium stock. Bargains are few and far between, based on the premise that development along Spanish beaches has already ground to a halt, mainly due to increasingly stringent environmental laws. With no more new beachside stock likely to come on to the market anytime soon, this means that vendors can afford to keep their prices high, knowing that although it s taking longer for properties to sell, eventually a well-located, fairly priced beachside property in Spain will be snapped up. Bank Holidays in Spain - Part 2
                                  a

In Spain bank holidays fall on all days of the week, but it´s quite common to have a holiday on a Thursday and a Saturday during the same week.

As you can probably imagine, this presents a great opportunity – why go back into work on a Friday, when you can simply take time off and effectively enjoy a nice relaxing 4 day break?

The problem is that EVERYBODY does it – it´s practically customary.

Horse Riding in Spain
                                                      a

Riding on the coast or owning a horse in sunny Spain is some people’s idea of paradise,  and in many cases it is. Riding on the long stretches of beach, swimming in the sea with your horse, galloping along river beds as the sun sets behind the mountains, what more could you ask for?

There are many stables and equestrian centres in Spain, some of a very high standard, approved by the British Horse Society. They offer wide ranges of riding from dressage to show jumping, hacking, trekking, Spanish, Portuguese, doma vaquera and lots more, depending on where in Spain. I have owned horses for the years that I have been living in Spain and it has been a joy, every step of the way.

Bad Press - Media Coverage of the Spanish Property Market - Part 2
                                            a

Supply and demand governs any market. Not all vendors are desperate to sell. In fact, with a market recovery likely at some point in the coming years, many vendors are content to keep hold of their properties rather than dispose of them at a discounted price.

Demand is always greater for beachside properties in Spain, or for properties within prestigious and highly regarded developments or areas, so in these cases vendors are more able to command the asking prices.
