Wow! While we all marvel at scenes of Big Ben covered in snow this week, I have to report that here on the Costa del Sol, all is not well.

We are receiving a severe soaking. After a stunning, sunny week, thunderstorms arrived here in Marbella on Sunday (you can always tell when they are on their way when you start to lose your satellite signal and you have to revert to plan B – your saved programmes on Sky+), and have continued throughout Monday and the best part of today. In fact, as I´m writing this I can hear the rain outside lashing against the window of my office.

So while you complain about a few centimeters of nice fluffy snow on the ground over in the UK, spare a thought for us poor souls here on the Costa del Sol (that´s ´Coast of Sun´ by the way!).

The good news is that, according to research undertaken by Kyero.com, the Costa del Sol is the warmest region in Spain, although the award for driest region goes to the Costa Almeria…while the wettest area of Spain is the north western region of A Coruna.

Not sure I believe it just at this moment!
