Davis Cup Tennis Comes to Puerto Banus

While I´m on the subject of tennis, it has just been announced that Puerto Banus will host the Davis Cup tennis match between Spain and Germany in July this year.

This is a real coup for Marbella as they faced stiff competition for the rights to host the tournament from a number of prominent towns and cities, including a strong bid from Zaragoza.

The venue of the 3 day match will be the bullring in Puerto Banus, a fine arena capable of seating 12,000 spectators. It is expected that tennis stars such as Rafael Nadal will be taking part.

Special thanks was paid to Spanish tennis legend Manolo Santana for his help in securing the rights to stage the match in Marbella.

That´s exactly where it is. They have had a few concerts there in the last few years, but it´s no longer used as a bullring.
