selling a property in spain
spanish property I am frequently asked by owners of Spanish property if I think they should sell their properties in Spain.
Unless they desperately need the money, then my answer every time would be ´no´.
Prices are falling, and we are entering a European recession. All buyers are looking to secure a bargain property in Spain and are subsequently making (sometimes) silly offers, even on the best priced properties. It´s a buyer´s market in Spain, so why on earth would you want to be selling? If you can afford to hang on to your Spanish property, then do so. If you need to cover any mortgage payments, then try to rent your property, either on a long-term basis, or to holidaymakers, and wait for the storm to blow over and for property prices to recover.
If you are desperate and need to sell your Spanish property, then market the property aggressively – list the property with several agents, and price it to sell.
